Just a little journal about my cat Molly. She is very old, and has been on a downward spiral the last few months. It seems to have accelerated in the past week, and the best my family and I can do is make her comfortable. Whether she dies tonight, or sometime in the next couple days, I just wanted to share a little about her.

She was a stray my family and I came across at church. Our building had no air-conditioning, so during service we propped the doors open, and one day she wandered in. It was obvious no one was feeding her, and after a couple weeks of her repeatedly visiting, my family took her home, and she has been with us ever since. That was about ten years ago.

She was always quite the character. She was an out-door cat, with one blind eye, and a beautiful, long-haired wild-cat appearance, a survivor, and tough as nails. She never picked a fight with other cats, but always held her turf when other cats picked fights with her. At first, she was a little skittish around people, but especially in the last few years she became very affectionate. When my family went on walks, she would follow us to the end of the block, and sometimes a lot farther, and then wait for us to come back. When we did, she always waited for all of us to walk past, like she was counting heads, before following us home. When the weather turned chilly, we let her indoors, and she slept with me. I'm going to miss that.

She also inspired my artwork. If you check my gallery, you'll see my human depiction of her with an awesome eye-patch, and clothing matching her fur-patterns, in the process of making home-made sushi. I hope to make more art-pieces starring her in the future. I'm going to miss her. She's been a blessing, and I pray God blesses her in her final time. She'll always be our "Molly, the church cat."

I'm sure she has lived as a happy cat to be surrounded by many that love her. Bless her.
